Prof Xuedu Lv
Lab Co-Director
Professor Xuedu Lv (PhD from Tsinghua University) is a former deputy director of China's National Climate Center and chief climate change expert at the Asian Development Bank. He has long been engaged in climate change science and policy research and negotiation, focusing on carbon emission reduction trading mechanisms, low-carbon economy, green finance, etc.
Since 1991, he has been responsible for organizing the formulation of China's national science and technology development policies on climate change and organizing the implementation of national projects. In 1995, he began to participate in the negotiation of the IPCC assessment report. Since 1996, he has participated in the negotiations of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol, during which he was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the United Nations CDM.
Dr Bing Sun
Lab Co-Director
Dr Bing Sun holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (with Prof Graham Haughton) and serves as the Co-Director of the Lab. In addition, Dr Sun serves as the Deputy Head of the China-UK Construction Industry Liaison Office, the China Chamber of International Commerce and the Deputy Director of the Expert Committee at China Energy Society. He has accumulated over ten years of expertise. He theoretically proposed a multilevel governance framework for China’s low-carbon experimentation, while practically solving real-world problems through innovation.
Dr Sun has engaged with many academic projects and has published widely in leading journals. He has also owned over 35 property rights. His climate entrepreneurship comes across various leading research institutions and industry partners towards further realizing the deep integration of expertise and AI in different service scenarios. He has invested in many climate tech-driven ventures through to listing.

Mrs Skylar Tang
Lab Marketing Director
Skylar is the Co-Founder of Carbon Governing Tech Venture, while also serves as the Lab brand director and part-time academic tutor at Fudan University. She graduated from LSE, Parsons School of Design in New York, and the Shanghai Theatre Academy with a diverse background. She has extensive experience in the planning, collaboration and development of multinational business creative projects. Before Climate Entrepreneurship, Skylar worked as a host and producer at Shanghai Media Group (SMG) for more than 10 years. Since 2021, she has serve nearly 100 sustainable customers, benefiting from her business model innovation and excellent product design capabilities.
Mr Xiaoming Lai
Carbon Industrial Expert
Xiaoming Lai is chairman of the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, the official operating platform of China's national emissions trading scheme (ETS) and also Chairman of the China Carbon Neutral Action Alliance. He has been engaged in enterprise management, investment management and factor trading platform operation management for a long time. He has systematically participated in the mechanism design and platform construction of Shanghai and the national carbon market and worked closely with various national ministries, Shanghai Municipality, international financial institutions and other major topics related to the carbon market and carbon finance.
Mr Shaoshan Xu
Carbon Industrial Expert
Mr Shaoshan Xu is currently the deputy director of China Quality Certification Center (CQC). As the main person in charge, he participated in the formulation of China's national product carbon footprint, supply chain carbon management and other standards and policies. He participated in COP28 on behalf of CQC and successfully hosted many side meetings in China Corner, actively promoting the internationalization of quality certification, and improving the quality of "dual carbon" data. As the core laboratory initiator, Shaoshan will try his best to enable international partners to remain competitive in a rapidly changing environment, via tailored technical support.
Prof Dantong Liu
Distinguished Researcher
Prof Dantong Liu is from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, School of Earth Sciences, Zhejiang University. He has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles (36 as lead or corresponding author) in many prestigious journals including Nature Geoscience, GRL, JGR, ES&T, and ACP, with an h-index of 32, some of which are selected as EGU and AGU highlights, and ACS cover. In the past five years, he led projects of ¥8.5M as PI. He has chaired the AGU and AOGS conference sessions and is a youth member of the IGAC China Committee and China Particulate Committee. He serves as an Associate Editor of the journal Atmosphere and guest Editor of Environmental Research and Frontiers in Environmental Science.
Prof Xiaolei Ma
Distinguished Researcher
Prof Xiaolei Ma received a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, in 2013. He is currently a Professor at the School of Transportation Science and Engineering, Beihang University, Beijing, China. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. His research interests include green low-carbon transport, public transit operation and planning and transportation Big Data analytics. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and the IET Intelligent Transport Systems, and also an Editorial Member of the Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies.
